Rianna is an Algonquin Anishnaabe Kwe with a diploma as a Child and youth care worker with a designation in Indigenous studies. Her main goal is to foster positive change and create optimal well-being through gaining a sense of belonging, as well as cultural growth. Rianna aims to help children achieve their goals through teaching self-development, self-regulation, and connecting emotions and life skills. She also aims to provide children with the tools necessary to increase their self-awareness and empowerment within their own lives. |

Jennifer is Mik’maq whose ancestors come from the unceded Territories of Mi’kma’ki. Jennifer is of the Beaver Clan and has grown up in Nogojiwanong (Peterborough) since 1992. She is also of Irish, Scottish and English descent. Jennifer wrapped up her studies at Sir Sandford Fleming College in Social Service Work, with the Indigenous Perspectives Designation in June 2023. Jennifer also studied Psychology at Trent University for three years from 2006-2009. Through her life experiences and education, Jennifer is passionate about helping other Indigenous women and their families the way Niijkiwendidaa helped her in the past. Jennifer works from a trauma informed, person centered, strengths based, holistic and traditional approach. She upholds the values of The Medicine Wheel and The Seven Grandfather Teachings in everything that she does. She strongly advocates for the equality and empowerment of Anishnaabekwewag and respects the fact that each one must have the right to make their own decisions, choose their own destiny and live life in a good way, Mino Bimaadiziwin. Cheyanne

Cheyanne is a Potawatomi/Michi Saagiig Anishnaabe-kwe. Her roots stem from Moose Deer Point First Nation as well as Hiawatha First Nation. She is also a mother of 4. Cheyanne graduated in 2017 with her social services diploma. Cheyanne is working toward her Post Partum Doula certification with an indigenous wholistic healing approach. Cheyanne grew up in Nogojiwanong, and is now raising her own children in the community as well. Cheyanne’s experience comes from either her own life hurdles during her healing journey, teachings from elders and knowledge picked up from connecting with other indigenous communities. After years of climbing up the ladder of life again, Cheyanne is finally in a place where she can fulfill her goals being part of the circle of care for the urban indigenous community with her frontline supports and compassionate heart.

Shannon is of Irish decent and is a very proud auntie, sister, daughter, partner, and friend. Shannon began her journey at Niijkiwendidaa in 2016, volunteering at the youth drop ins. With a background in Child and Youth Work, she has continued to wear many different hats and fulfill different responsibilities at NASC. Shannon is extremely grateful for the experiences she has had as well as all the beautiful connections with community members she has had the privilege to make. Born and raised in raised in Nogojiwanong (Peterborough), Treaty 20. In 2022, Shannon re-located to Air Ronge, Saskatchewan, Treaty 6. Since moving, Shannon has been able to create connections in a new part of Turtle Island, while working remotely as the Administrative Support.
